Concept art (Tasha)

I was tasked with making concepts for the weapons, based on ideas for different tools the player could use against enemies.

For the guns, I took inspiration from a few different water guns, bubble blowers, and parts of other water-based tools, such as the wheels used to retract hoses. I also incorporated the shapes of different types of real guns in a few designs, such as a revolver and a rifle. For the watering cans, I tried incorporating nature-inspired shapes into the designs to make them look more unique – some attempts were more successful than others.

I also made some grenade designs, also based on different objects and plants found in nature. I tried to experiment with how much the designs resemble their inspirations, with the first two being designed to look like flowers, while the inspirations for designs 5 and 6 (a pinecone and a bee, respectively) are more subtly implied through the colours and shapes.

Finally, I made a couple of quick concept sketches for the poster. Someone in the group suggested the possibility of the poster being a parody of the cover art for Doom, due to it being an influence for the game itself, so I made two concepts for this.  We ended up preferring one of Raida’s designs for the final poster, so these ones didn’t get used.
